Missy’s BIO
Missy Traversi, owner of M.T. Elite Basketball Training, is a former player and graduate for the Division 1 University of Maine Women’s basketball team. While at Maine she led her team to NCAA tournament appearances along with three regular season titles. As a point guard and floor leader she led her team both in scoring and assists. In her senior season she was named to the all-conference America East first team, became a member of the 1,000-point scoring club and earned a contract to play professional basketball in Sweden. After being named the number one scorer in Sweden in the 2005-2006 regular season, Traversi was invited to the 2006 WNBA Chicago Sky training camp.
Missy has served as a motivational speaker, instructor and personal training coach for the Naval Academy, Bentley college, Daniel Webster college, Dave Cowens Basketball Camp and youth programs in Maine. She is also responsible for managing lecture programs on work ethic, strength and conditioning, play making and ball handling to 300+ student athletes. Missy has designed and implemented basketball training curriculum for the past six years, along with giving camp leadership seminars in coaching philosophy, training and student evaluation. In the 2006-2007 season Missy served as Brookline High School girl’s varsity basketball coach. Missy Traversi provides private shooting lessons, group instruction, summer camps, and skill clinics throughout the Boston area. In the 2007-2008 season Missy played in her second professional season in Sweden and was named the assistant coach of her team. Missy now resides in Franklin, MA and is currently the head basketball coach at Dover Sherborn High School where she was just named the Tri Valley League Coach of the Year for the 2008-2009 season.
